The menswear market, already a buzzing ecosystem, is about to get a little brighter.
After Women's Wear Daily floated a rumor in February that Stella McCartney was gearing up to launch a men’s collection for spring 2017, the New York Times first reported on Thursday that the range is really, truly happening. The menswear line will comprise suits, separates, outerwear, and accessories, Vanessa Friedman of the Times writes — all made in animal-friendly fabrics, per the vegetarian designer’s longtime sourcing manifesto.

A rep for McCartney confirmed to Racked that the brand will unveil men's at a special presentation in London on November 10. The collection will hit stores in December.
It’s not hard to imagine how McCartney’s aesthetic would translate into men’s clothing: as a womenswear designer, she’s become a go-to for sleek suiting, with ladies like Amy Poehler and Alexa Chung picking up her tailored looks for red carpet appearances.
After conquering activewear, designing Great Britain’s Olympic uniforms, and chasing teens’ fickle affections with her new Pop fragrance (the campaign for which stars Amandla Stenberg and Grimes), men’s seems like a sensible challenge.
